Nilgiri landslide rain-ravaged

The Nilgiris also known as Blue Mountain has been spotted by the heavy rain during 7 – 11th November. Usually during heavy rain there will be landslide, road blocks, and trees on the road and electricity problem for more than 48 hours in most of the places in nilgiri district. But 7th November to 11th are terrible days for nilgiri district after 1978, around 40 people were killed for the landslide triggered by the heavy rain in many places and relief workers are reportedly searching for more missing persons as per the Hindu magazine. Seven members in a family killed in Acchanakal for the landslide.

Landslides happened in many places and destroyed houses and roads, on which the huge landslide more than 1000 ft near Madithorai on the way to kotagiri from ooty. This landslide blocked and separated the ooty – kotagiri roads. And the landslide near Lovedale junction and near Valleyview blocked the ooty – coonoor and ooty – lovedale roads.

Beauty of Mountains...

Last year we went for a tracking to western catchment hills… I enjoyed the trip… We were climbing with the great difficulty and reached on the top of the mountain… we were so tired by then... just lay down and saw the sky...
awesome... its was really beautiful with blue sky and here and there clouds... and chilled wind....

it was bit sunny… suddenly we were feeling so cold… the clouds were coming toward us, I mean towards the mountain… in few minutes we have surrounded by chilled clouds and couldnt see anything... after few minz the clouds went off... it was a nice feeling that we had.... that was very nice trip...
